2018: 50TTL

In 2018, I marked 50 years of taking photos with an epic photo adventure on the other side of the world. This post signals the end of my year-long account of my fifty years of photography. However, if I find anything else to share by word or image, I might post here from time to time.

What's this about?

For my 12th birthday, in April 1968, I was given a camera. From memory, it was called the Agfa Rapid and was similar to the Kodak Instamatic. I was hooked. The old Agfa is long gone, but I have been taking photos ever since. In April 2018, I marked 50 years Through The Lens, 50TTL.

This blog is a year-long project marking my milestone. Each week, I will post a pic or three from the past, working my way a year at a time from 1968 to 2018.

In these posts, you will find a lot of everyday photos, a few very poor photos (there for a reason, though) and a few quite good photos – well, I think so anyway. Along the way, I’ll make a few comments about photography and the life that passed in front of my lens. I’m not aiming to change the world of photography or commentary. It’s just an ordinary bloke’s observations about the recording and the passing of moments over fifty years.
